Motu 896 Modification Reviews
"I just hooked up the MOTU 896 and I must say that it both meets and exceeds my expectations! What? You mean my monitors really aren't that bad?? You mean you're supposed to actually hear subtle panning adjustments?? So that's why we had so much trouble mixing the bass??? You mean mixing can actually be an enjoyable experience??? In the past, mixing has been a tremendous chore, often involving blind adjustments based on how it sounded being played on other systems. Now I know how much the stock 896 played into that.
Seriously, the 896 finally sounds like I expected it to sound out of the box. The sound is so big, full, and (dare I say) 'fluffy!' It's so great to be able to hear the subtleties in the sound.... [We] have already decided that when the time comes when we need to replace the 896, we only want to get what you guys have a mod for. Thanks for filling in that missing link and making great sound accessible to people like us."
