BLABO is a boutique 500-series bottle opener suitable for opening your beverage of choice. Easily rackable and lightweight, BLABO is custom-built using the finest alloy and powdercoating processes we were able to source.
Get the most out of your boozy investment with BLABO; it makes the drinks you already have perform at their best. We recommend the PBR 8-500 for racking up to eight BLABOs in a single chassis.*
Legendary Black Lion build quality.
BLABO is custom-milled and hand-hammered in a secluded blacksmith district deep in Syria, the birthplace of Damascus steel. Our manufacturing partners leverage the same time-honored techniques and alloys that have been kept a closely-guarded secret since long before the Crusades.
Once milled to shape, each BLABO is sent to our powdercoating facility right here in the heart of Chicago. BLABOs are powder-coated with the utmost care and attention to detail, one at a time, under the supervision of our venerable powdologist, Dennis.
Dennis was a key figure in the development of powder coating in the 1940s. For BLABO, Dennis concocted a unique blend of proprietary powders, sourced from 3 continents, specialty-ground to a particulate size of .5 μm. This bespoke coating is applied via an electrostatic fluidized bed coating process that avoids distorting BLABO’s hand-milled shape through unnecessary overheating.
Finally, BLABO’s custom coating is set using a unique combination of both ultraviolet and infrared curing processes mandated by its distinct powder blend. Most powdercoats are set with UV light alone—but that wasn’t enough for the bar set by Black Lion Audio QC.
BLABO’s unique blend of iron, carbon, and [REDACTED] make it nigh-indestructable, ensuring it will enjoy a lifetime of use much longer than yours.
Broad compatibility for versatile drinking.
We spent years researching myriad bottlecap shapes and materials to arrive at a capgrip element that maximizes leverage while minimizing the angular force required in a typical decapping process. The unique crescent curvature of BLABO’s hand-milled capgrip element ensures maximum compatibility with both modern and vintage capping technologies.
The result is an elegant, warm opening process that adds weight and color to your beer while reducing noise and fizz.
*Note that BLABO does not currently support the patchbay routing options available in the PBR 8-500. We’re working to include this functionality in a future firmware update.
