    Seventeen 500 Compressor

    ,
    Black Lion didn’t sacrifice one ounce of tone when they shrunk down their classic Seventeen compressor to fit into the portable 500-series format. Seventeen, for those who don’t already know, is Black Lion’s unique take on what the classic ‘76 limiting amplifier could have been with the benefit of today’s tech. It’s not your grandpa’s ‘76. Seventeen 500 delivers profound detail and nuance never before heard with a ‘76-style compressor. And you even get some features not even available on the originals, including wet/dry mix control, a stereo-link option, and a frequency-adjustable sidechain high-pass filter.

    Bluey 500 FET Limiting Amplifier

    ,
    Bluey 500 is the 500-series version of the lauded Black Lion Audio Bluey. The original “Bluey” is Chris Lord-Alge’s not-so-secret weapon; the heavily-modified 2U compressor to the stars that’s been heard on countless hits. Having undergone years of odd fixes, modifications, and upgrades, the original Bluey was a singular and unique piece of studio unobtainium — until Black Lion Audio got their mitts and voltmeters on it. After working with Chris to reverse-engineer untold years’ worth of mods, component replacements, and upgrades, Black Lion Audio was able to make the legendary Bluey sound available to the world with the introduction of the original 2U Bluey compressor. Of course, they added a few features along the way without sacrificing what makes Bluey what it is. Black Lion firmly believe that everybody deserves a li’l Bluey in their life, so they’re proud to bring the world another li’l Bluey — the Bluey 500 — ready to add that unmistakable blue-striped mojo to your 500-series rack. You get all the squeeze, heft, and grit of the original Bluey in just two 500-series slots — a fraction of the original’s footprint. .embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }

    B172A Hybrid FET/Optical Compressor

    Double the classy in a single chassis, the B172A marries the Seventeen version of the legendary "76" FET limiter with our take on the renowned "2A" tube optical compressor. Whether you use the FET and opto separately — or in series, where one catches the audio's peaks and the other provides the heavy compression — the B172A will blow you away with its incredible sound and versatility. The B172A's Dual Mono Link makes it easy to route your signal through the 17 and 2A circuits in any order. Painstaking effort went into choosing the best transformers needed for each circuit. Spec'd with a CineMag input transformer on the 2A side, BLA’s own Chicago-wound output transformers on both circuits, high-grade signal path and decoupling capacitors, the B172A gives you ultra-convenient access to a pair of classic dynamics processors while also providing a valuable signal processing tool never before available in a single chassis. .embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }

    Bluey FET Limiting Amplifier

    The "Bluey" is a modified "Blue Stripe" compressor based off of the "golden" unit owned by Chris Lord-Alge. When certain components became unavailable, techs were forced to change the circuit, creating a one of a kind compressor that has been heard on countless hits. To get the exacting detail that Chris Lord-Alge has enjoyed from the original Bluey, we not only used custom CineMag transformers, we actually recreated his console’s insert path and built it right into the Bluey — giving everyone the same console feel! But we didn’t stop there: We also added an active wet/dry mix for easy parallel compression, as well as a stereo link! Bluey was designed with a vintage-inspired PCB layout, 1% resistors, polyester capacitors, and a linear power supply — meaning that Bluey is built to last! And like all Black Lion products, Bluey is hand assembled and tested in the USA. .embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }

    Seventeen Compressor – FET Limiting Amplifier
